Si le temps s’y prête, nous occuperons la cour arrière et offrirons à nos convives un succulent BBQ (options carnivore veggievore et veganvore). Au programme, boissons désaltérantes, projections vidéo et prestations des DJ Chilango, Aaron Maiden et Zapat Rapport (AKA Fromaggio)! (En cas de tornade, nous réchaufferons ensemble l'’espace du CMI, au deuxième
étage.)

Venez admirer de vos yeux ébahis l'’espace que nous avons amoureusement rénové au cours de l'’été! Laissez-nous vous présenter les nombreux projets qui animeront bientôt le CMI, empiffrez-vous, enivrez-vous, gigotez et amusez-vous avec nous! ET JOIGNEZ-VOUS AU PROJET SI LE CŒUR VOUS EN DIT!!

** À propos du Centre de médias indépendant (CMI)**

Le CMI ouvrira ses portes au public montréalais en septembre 2008, au deuxième étage du 2035 du boulevard Saint-Laurent, dans le même édifice que la librairie anarchiste l’Insoumise et que l’'info-kiosque DIRA.

Le CMI se veut un espace libre et ouvert, placé au service des JOURNALISTES INDÉPENDANTS, des média-activistes et des membres de la communauté qui souhaitent produire et diffuser des contenus d’information libres portant sur les mouvements sociaux et populaires, l’'actualité militante locale, nationale et internationale, la théorie politique, et bien plus. Ce sera aussi un espace d’'échange, un cadre autonome où les
connaissances et les compétences seront partagées librement dans un esprit d’'entraide et de soutien mutuel. L’'espace sera muni d’'un parc d’'ordinateurs et d'’un accès Internet sans-fil. Un laboratoire d’'informatique libre constituera un élément clé du CMI. Un échantillon des projets proposés : une station de radio Internet; une station de montage audio et vidéo; une audio-vidéothèque assortie d’'une station de visionnement; plusieurs activités de partage de connaissances; une série hebdomadaire de projections de films documentaires et de fiction; et *INSÉREZ VOTRE PROPRE IDÉE ICI!*. De plus, le collectif du CMI souhaite ouvrir l'’espace aux individus, regroupements et collectifs cherchant un local pour y présenter des ateliers ou d'’autres types d’événements touchant à la justice sociale ou à l’'utilisation des médias dans une
perspective libératrice.

Join us in a housewarming party at the new location of the Independent Media Center of Montreal!

If it's nice weather, we'll be in the backyard with a mouth-watering BBQ (meat and veggie/vegan options available), cold drinks for sale, film projections, and DJ's Chilango, Aaron Maiden, and Zapat Rapport (aka Fromaggio) all night long. (If it's raining... because it never rains in Montréal... we'll cuddle inside on the second floor).

Come see the new space that we've been renovating all summer, learn about exciting media projects at the center, and dance and have some fun with us! AND JOIN THE PROJECT IF YOU DIG IT!

** About the Independent Media Centre (IMC)**

The independent media center will be opening its doors to the Montreal public in September 2008, at 2035 St-Laurent boulevard, on the second floor, just above l'Insoumise anarchist bookstore, and below the DIRA infoshop.

While many details about the project are still being worked out, the space is intended to be used by and for autonomous media activists and community members to circulate news and information on social movements, events, demonstrations, political theory, and more. The IMC will also be a space for people and groups to share skills and knowledge with each other, in a spirit of mutual aid and collective empowerment. The space will be equipped with several computers and wireless internet access. Some projects which have been proposed for the space include an internet radio station, an audio/video editing corner, a documentary video library and viewing station, weekly film screenings, and *YOUR IDEA HERE!*. Additionally, we are hoping to open the space up for individuals, groups and collectives to use for workshops and events on media and social justice related topics.
